In 2002, Dharambir met a bank manager who visited their village to promote aloe vera farming and discussed the aloe vera gel extractor machine. However, due to the high cost of the machine and the extra high consultation charges, Dharambir decided to develop one of his food processing machines in 2003 and completed the prototype by March 2005.
The prototype had a heating problem when minimal material was processed. He could not eliminate the problem in the second prototype. In the third prototype, he introduced the castor oil bath, which could maintain the temperature at 200° c. This third prototype was bought by GIAN and sent to Kenya as a pilot. Based on the feedback received, GIAN asked him to modify and further incorporate the provisions that would make transport easier, including foldable legs; Dharambir managed to design a successful prototype.
It is a 125 kg multi-purpose processing machine with only a single-phase motor and can process various herbal plants and fruits. Its motor Speed is 1440 RPM which works at the speed of 360 RPM, and it can extract 1 to 50 kg of juice/gel/extract per hour. It contains two electric heaters, an automatic temperature cut-off, and a starter panel with electricity consumption of 1.5 machines per hour.
Dharambir’s innovation has obtained widespread recognition and was awarded by the National Innovation Foundation with the Haryana state award in the 5th National biennial award function.
