Narsimha, a humble man from the fishing community, noticed the problem and labor involved in removing hyacinth (unwanted weed) from the water. Due to excessive hyacinth growth, the fish’s health is affected, and fishermen need to spend many rupees on the removal; the health of the fishermen involved in removal is also affected. Narsimha used a 5 HP motor and eight cutters to design the hyacinth machine that cuts the hyacinth into small 3 to 4-inch pieces and then flows down with the downstream water. For larger water bodies, he modified the machine by attaching the conveyor belt that transfers the cut pieces of hyacinth to the truck and transports them for disposal. This innovative technology can compel the remover using only 8000 to 10000 rupees and a minimum number of men’s power which is approximately one-third the cost of the manual method. The Hyderabad Municipal Corporation appreciated the innovation and was used to clean its bodies of water. The machine was exported to Lake Victoria through GIAN, the Honey Bee Network, and MEA. Also, Narsimha was able to represent his innovation at various places, including LBSNAA and Rashtrapati Bhavan
