Rahul Singh from Maharajganj district, Uttar Pradesh, is making headlines by showing his scientific talent. He is a 12th standard student at ABC Public School Divyanagar. He is an innovator in the Design Innovator and Incision Center at Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology.

Innovation Details

His father Sanjay Singh is a farmer by profession. In such a situation, looking at the problem of farming, always thought of doing something different. For this, it is necessary to have advanced types of instruments. So he thought of making a battery powered tractor. The tractor has secured first place at the India International Science Festival. This allows one acre of field to be plowed in three hours. The most important thing is that the tractor is eco-friendly with automatic charging. Its speed is 70 kilometers per hour. The tractor is simple to use with an on/off switch that can be charged with solar energy. The first prototype was developed in July, 2020.

The plowing machine can be easily transported to the least places and can be transported easily to the cities as well. With the ease of plowing the farm with this machine, this machine is very fast for sugarcane rolling in the fields. It moves forward, and this machine easily plows six kattha fields in two hours. This machine can be used for plowing fields very well for farmers.

This machine plowing machine runs without diesel and petrol, that is, this machine runs from battery. Till now such technology has not come on the market, this machine is very beneficial for the poor and farmers. The specialty of this machine is that the farmer can easily plow it at least anywhere. And this machine runs through an accelerator, it also has a wireless system, which will make it easier for the farmer to operate by speaking.

He has got financial support under MVIF by GIAN and SIDBI for prototype development, testing and trial and marketing of the tractor.

Gramin Navonmesh Protsahan

Gujarat Grassroots Innovation Augmentation Network (GIAN) and Small Industries Development Bank (SIDBI) are working on a project “Gramin Navonmesh Protsahan”. The project aims to strengthen the innovation ecosystem and provide support to innovations from and for grassroots across the country. The selected projects get support for investment funds for stimulating commercialization. The support is provided in the form of a soft loan with a 5% interest rate.

GIAN is the first incubator of grassroots innovations set up in 1997 in collaboration with the Gujarat government and supported by SRISTI and IIMA in addition to the Honey Bee Network.
