Details Of Innovation	Improved Maize Sheller: The original Sheller is operated by using Tractor through PTO shaft attached with these locally equipment called Yokenkeet. In the main shaft, there is one bearing. The size of the ply wheel or pulley has a diameter of ¾ feet . The speed of rotation is also not satisfied by him. Therefore, Sri. Thirumalai has made alterations. He has provided 6 bearings in the main shaft where is in the old type it is made up of hollow pipe. So it will not easily be broken. He increased the size of the ply wheel up to 1 diameter where as in the old model it was 3/4. The improved machine can be transported by attaching with tractor through cultivator links where as the in the old model it is carried only through tractor Trailer. Dissemination of Improved Sheller: The cost of improved sheller excluding tractor is Rs. 21,000/. However the quality of the finishing with new bearings, increased gauge thickness of equipment assures for enhanced life span of equipment. He has so far designed 7 such models to farmers of near by villages.Other Innovations: His other innovations are1.Ridge Plough for Sugarcane Crop. 2.Bund former for coconut garden.
