Details Of Innovation	This mechanical sieve can clean about 2-3 maunds (1maund=20 kilograms) of groundnuts in two to three minutes; about 300-400 maunds of groundnuts can be cleaned daily. The cost of the machine is around Rs.4000. He rents out this machine to other farmers in the village for Rs.30 per hour. This machine has to be taken to the particular farmers field and a person has to be there to supervise its use. Yearly, during the groundnut season, ten to fifteen farmers use Narayanbhais sieve. His son says that though there is demand for it from other farmers, it sometimes becomes difficult to accommodate every request. Narayanbhai told us that the blacksmith of Mansika village who had seen this sieve, modified and enhanced‚ it by fitting a similar sieve onto a groundnut opener- something the farmers found very useful.
