Details Of Innovation In South India region, there is infestation of Eryophide mite in the coconut (Cocus nucifera) crop. The affected fruits are reduced in size and crack is observed. As a result, the fruits are dried out. To treat the problem, use leaves of custard apple (Annona squamosa), aloe vera, neem (Azadirachta indica) and chaste tree (Vitex negunda) are crushed together. In the mixture, appropriate quantity of water is added. In five liters of extract, fifteen liters of water is added. Two liters of extract per tree is sprayed on the tip of coconut plant. The treatment can be used after two months. Fifteen hundred trees are cured from this treatment. Latex of rubber plant can also be used to treat the affected part of the tree.
