In this method, heaps of groundnut are made after the harvesting of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) crop, Here, the pit is dug in which two sticks of bamboo (Bambusa bambos) about4 feet long are placed vertically at the interval of 8 feet distance. Thereafter, one horizontal stick is tied with this two sticks of bamboo and in between a gunny sack curtain is placed so that the whole area looks like a theatre. Now, two sides are formed (that is front side and back side). The crop of groundnut are hammered on the top and in between the two stick of bamboo. As a result, pods and remains of plants are clefted separately. This process requires less amount of time than the mechanical device and complete leaves can be obtained for use as fodder. One person can separate 500 to 800 kilogram seeds of groundnut using this method. While this method has been in use from the last 8 to 10 years, the innovator has not used it himself given the large size of the groundnut crop. It is economical method given that bamboo sticks are easily available in the area. Instead of bamboo, farmers can also use neem or other sticks. Source of idea: Once Dudabhai had two to three groundnut plants, so he struck these plants on the bamboo stick as he found the separation of pods and thus got an idea.
