Details Of Innovation	Pragjibhai Bhikhabhai from Bhavnagar district of Gujarat informs that green caterpillars infest the cotton (Gossypium herbaceum) crop during winter. This pest feeds upon all parts of the plant and causes damage to the crop. Pragjibhai uses buttermilk and salt to control this pest. He fills an earthen pot with buttermilk, adding 50 g salt per liter. He then closes the mouth of the pot and keeps it undisturbed for 8 -10 days. After this period, he opens the lid, filters the content, and sprays the solution on cotton plants. This controls 30 - 35 % of insects.
