Details Of Innovation	Farmer Viramdevsinh Sarvaiya from Bhavnagar district of Gujarat informs that insect pests are noticed in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) crop more particularly during monsoon. He prepares an ingenuous insecticide to control the pests. For this, he first boils 1 kg leaves of neem (Azadirachta indica) in 4 kg water till only 2 kg water remains in the vessel. After that, he mixes 100 g sour buttermilk (preferably from the milk of black cow), 100 g flour of pearl millet (Pennisetum typhoides), and some juice of aloe (Aloe vera) in the neem solution. He then fills the whole mixture in a covered earthen pot and keeps this buried in a pit for 4 -5 days. After this period, he takes out the pot, uses 200 g of the stock solution to 10 L water, and sprays it on the cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) crop. This controls the pests.
