Details Of Innovation Sucker insects such as aphids and thrips attack cotton (Gossypium herbaceum) crop anytime within three months from the time the cotton plants start growing. These pests suck vital juice from leaves, flowers, and bolls of cotton. These insects are very small and yellowish, and they thrive in humid and wet weather. As a remedy, 500 g tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) powder or snuff is mixed thoroughly in 2 .5 L water. Then this solution is filled in a pump and sprayed on the crop. In case of severe infestation, the mixture is sprayed once every week. Moreover, a decoction of pungent chillis is also sprayed. The idea of using tobacco came as humans regularly use snuff powder to destroy head-lice in hair.
