| Details Of Innovation | Vasrambhai Zalawadia of Gujarat uses the leaf of custard apple (Annona squamosa) to protect cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) crop from worms, insects, and parasites. Vasrambhai Zalawadia first takes three-kilo green and tender leaves of custard apple (Annona squamosa) and boils the leaves in 20 glasses of water. The boiling is continued until one-third of the water evaporates. After cooling, a pump is filled with 100 milliliters of this solution and sprayed on the crop. While spraying, it should be ensured that the spray covers the entire crop to maximize the benefit. This practice has been in use for a year now. Because of this spray, small worms and parasites, which attack the cotton crop, will die within three days. |
