Powdery mildew-infected crop shows symptoms of blackening of earheads and stunting, and many times, earhead remains empty. This all leads to the reduction in yield. To control this disease, 1 KG leaves and vines each of "kahdod" vine are mixed and then crushed. Add 2Litres of water to it. Keep it for 4 to 5 hrs and then filter it through clean cloth. Add 2 Litres of water again to this filtrate. This makes total 4 Lof stock solution. Spray this solution in total one acre of finger millet (Eleusive corocana)or sorghum (Sorghum vulgare) crop. The spray is repeated and controls 50% of the disease. This is a traditional method which has been used for the past 15 years.
