A pulverized mixture of 50 g bark of haldu (Adina cordifolia) tree, 100 g roots cuseus grass (Vetiveria zizanioides), 100 g roots of "ufada", 250 ml milk and one liter cows urine is sprayed on the green larva-infested field before sunrise in the mornig. The remedy is said to control about 60% of larva in the field after 15 days. It is traditional practice learnt from ancestors, and has been in use for the last 25 years. The prepared mixture is sprayed around the infested field before sunrise. |
