Details Of Innovation Wild animals infest standing crops at night and cause extensive damage in farms. Wild ass causes much damage in the North Gujarat region and Rajasthan. If in the winter wheat and cumin crops are damaged, in the summer it is millet and sorghum. To control the animal menace , Engarbhai Hajaraji Panchal suggests the erection of man-like effigies in farms at regular distances. The effigies can be made out of stuffed old gunny bags, holding sticks and stumps to boot. Once the effigies are erected, four to five per farm, wild animals stop their visitations. Eventually, wild animal infestation is stopped, provided farmers keep up their vigil.
