| Details Of Innovation | Aphids and other pests often infest the cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) crop to the misfortune of growers. They suck out juices from the leaves of the plant and cause immnese damage. As a result, the cotton plants go dry. "Molomasi" (aphids) is one such pest which causes much damage in the monsoon season. The method followed by Dahyabhai Parmar to rid the cotton plants of aphids is simple: He boils tobacco (Nicotina tobaccum) leaves and the decoction is diluted in water. This solution is sprayed through a sprayer pump. Aphids can be controlled by the method. |
