| Details Of Innovation | Heliothis is green in colour and frequently afflicts the cabbage crop. The heliothis consumes the leaves and fruits and causes extensive damage . To control the infestation, use leaves of agave (Agave americana), which are crushed to obtain their extract. In the extract, 50 g powder of capsicum (Capsicum annuum) is added. Thereafter, 500 ml of water is added. The complete extract is filled in 14 L of spraying pump and sprayed on 0.12 ha of land. The extract of agave can cause itching sensation in human beings, as the skin of heliothis is more delicate and soft as compared to the skin of human beings so, it is more effective to the heliothis. The practice is in use from last four years. |
