| Details Of Innovation | Make holes of about one to two centimeters in diameter round a mud vessel. A corn pod whose grains have been taken off is put in this vessel and is buried at a depth of about one meter in the field. Termites like these empty corn [Zea mays] pods very much so they are attracted to the vessel. After two to three weeks, when the ground is dug then almost a colony of termites has been formed in the pot or vessel which is lifted cautiously and destroyed. Such pots are buried at many places in the field. Some farmers make small and big pits here and there and put dung into them in summer to attract termites. After a few days, the farmers destroy them by setting them on fire. |
