| Details Of Innovation | To have fast growth of subabul (Leucaena leucocephala), grafting method is used instead of the seed propagation method. Its leaves are also used for fodder . To grow "Kadu khajur", grafting method is followed in Gujarat. The wood of this tree is useful for construction. It is difficult to grow this tree from seeds and so grafting method is followed. It is important method to note the growing of neem (Azadirachta indica) and tamarind (Tamarindus indica) tree. Here, two to three plants of the same seedling are placed in a pit and it is observed that which plant grows faster as compared to the other plant. On the second year, inferior plants are removed. To increase fertility in soil, green manuring is done of "sarpamkha" (Tephrosia purpuria) plant between two rows of mango (Mangifera indica) plant to restrict the soil erosion and increase the fertility of soil. It is a traditional practice. |

| PAS 1 | "Grafting is a method of asexual plant propagation that joins plant parts from different plants together so they heal and grow as one plant. This technique is used to propagate plants that do not root well from cuttings, to utilize superior root systems, or to maintain clonal production." http://extension.msstate.edu/publications/basic-grafting-techniques-0 |
