| Details Of Innovation | Farmers get a good price of brinjal fruits with good gloss. Naranbhai Patel, a farmer from Sabarkantha district of Gujarat uses an interesting method for improving lustre of brinjal (Solanum melongena) fruits. He pours 10 ml castor (Ricinus communis) oil in the base of each brinjal plant before the flowering stage. This not only gives protection to brinjal plants against white ants but improves the lustre of the fruits. (According to Dr K D Solanki, white ants can be controlled by using castor oil but claim about improving the lustre has to be confirmed with tests). |
