In the forest area of tiger conservation and the other forest areas of Andhra pradesh, clearing nut tree (Strychnos potatorum) is practiced. People from this area use this tree for the purification of water. Water is immediately cleaned when crushed seeds of the clearing nut tree are placed in it. For the purification of water, few seeds of clearing nut tree (Strychnos potatorum) are mixed with salt and water. After 15 minutes, sediments of minute particles can be observed at the bottom of the container. Now, scientists have found that certain chemicals from the seeds can prevent industrial pollution. This substance can remove heavy metals like cadmium and mercury atoms like uranium, thorium and other effective radio isotopes from the water. It is a traditional practice.
