| PAS 1 | "Kasnabhai of district Banaskantha treat cough in cattle with the help of "hargu" tree bark, "aankol" (Alangium salvifolium) bark, arugula (Eruca sativa) grass and spine gourd (Momordica dioica) root. For treatment, 100 g "hargu" tree bark, 100 g "aankol" (Alangium salvifolium) bark, 50 g arugula (Eruca sativa) grass and 50 g spine gourd (Momordica dioica) root - these four ingredients are powdered using a pounding stone or mortar. Then 500 g water is added to the powder and stirrred well to make a solution. Thereafter, the solid particles are taken out of the solution and the remaining medicine is drenched to the affected animal twice daily for three days. This will cure bloat in animal." |

| Disease Description | In cold months, when the animal is exposed to cold breeze, or when its exertion level is high, it is prone to infection, which is responsible for cough. Due to this problem, the animal oozes phlegm from its nostrils and shows signs of heavy breathing. There is also oozing of sticky mucus from the nose of animal. It sneezes a lot. The occurrence of this disease is more prevalent in bullock, cow and buffalo. |
