Swollen Umbilicus in Newborn Calves.

Disease Description
|
Newborn calves of cows and buffaloes are prone to get infected at their umbilicus. This happens due to contamination at the time severing the umbilical cord from the mother. When the umbilicus gets infected, the wound attracts flies, which makes the swelling increase. The calf suffers severe pain and may die if not taken care of.
