Community Practices "To treat corneal opacity, Shri Sodabhai uses leaves of khanthar (Capparis spinosa) and kharizaad. These leaves are chewed along with a pinch of common salt and then the juice in the mouth is spit into the eye of the animal. Two days of this treatment results in reduced pain for the animal (Honey Bee, 13(1): 9, 2002)."

Disease Description The disease is generally sub clinical, acute and chronic in buffaloes. In advanced disease process, parasites invade the central nervous system which leads to development of the nervous signs. Due to development of the immunodeficiency, frequent corneal opacity reported in buffaloes.
