PAS 1 " To treat this disease take ‘kollan kovai kilangu’ (Corralocarpus epigaeus (Roettl.) CB CI.), root of ‘aaduthinnapalai kodi’ (Aristolochia bracteolata Lam.) and turmeric (Curcuma longa L.). Ground all the three and prepare a bolus to be given to the animal. Desired results are seen when this bolus is given to the animal for consecutive three days on empty stomach (Honey Bee, 17(3):15, 2006)."

Disease Description It is yellow discoloration of the tissue due to diposition of bilirubin which occurs in presence of hyperbilirubinemia. There are 3 tyes of jaundice that are prehepatic or hemolytic jaundice, hepatic jaundice and posthepatic or obstructive or surgical jaundice.
Management Practices Treatment of jaundice will vary depending on the underlying cause. If a bile duct blockage is present, surgery is typically required; otherwise, management will be medical.
