PAS 1 Topical application of Calotropis gigantea in excision wound model increased the percentage of wound contraction. Scar area and epithelization time were decreased. In incision wound and dead space wound breaking strength of wounds and hydroxyproline was increased. [Deshmukh PT, Fernandes J, Atul A, Toppo E. Wound healing activity of Calotropis gigantea root bark in rats. J Ethnopharmacol. 2009; 125(1):178-181. doi:10.1016/j.jep.2009.06.007] https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19539020/
PAS 2 Sesamum indicum (black seasame) is a plant growing and cultivated in Africa, India and Asia including some parts of Iran. This plant was used in Iranian folk medicine for their digestive, carminative, antispasmodic, sedative, analgesic, tonic and diuretic as well as for functional gastrointestinal disorders. The aim of this study was to overview its bioactive properties. [Miraj, Sepide & Kiani, Sara. (2016). Bioactivity of Sesamum indicum: A review study. Der Pharmacia Lettre. 8. 328-334.] https://www.researchgate.net/publication/304931966_Bioactivity_of_Sesamum_indicum_A_review_study
PAS 3 Latex from Calotropis procera is widely used in folk medicine as a rich source of biologically active compounds capable of promoting diverse benefits such as control of dermal fungal infections, antimicrobial activities and pain relief among other useful properties.
PAS 4 Among the foods that can potentially be considered as medicine, is sesame or Sesamum indicum L., which is part of the Pedaliaceae family and is composed of its lignans such as sesamin, sesamol, sesaminol and sesamolin. Its lignans have been widely studied and are known to possess antiaging, anticancer, antidiabetes, and anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Modern chronic diseases, which can transform into clinical diseases, are potential targets of these lignans. The prime example of chronic diseases is rheumatic inflammatory diseases, which affect the support structures and the organs of the body and can also develop into malignancies. [Wu, M. S., Aquino, L., Barbaza, M., Hsieh, C. L., Castro-Cruz, K. A., Yang, L. L., & Tsai, P. W. (2019). Anti-Inflammatory and Anticancer Properties of Bioactive Compounds from Sesamum indicum L.-A Review. Molecules (Basel, Switzerland), 24(24), 4426. https://doi.org/10.3390/molecules24244426]
PAS 5 Sesame seeds also contain two unique substances: sesamin and sesamolin known to have a cholesterol lowering effect in humans and to prevent high blood pressure. Both of these were also reported to increase the hepatic mitochondrial and the peroxisomal fatty acid oxidation rate in experimental animals. Cephalin, a phospholipid from sesame seed has been reported to possess haemostatic activity. The oil has wide medical and pharmaceutical applications.[ Shamim, Saad Ahmed., Medicinal properties of kunjad (sesamum indicum): a review, The Pharma Innovation Journal 2019; 8(4): xx-xx] https://journals.indexcopernicus.com/api/file/viewByFileId/529681.pdf
PAS 6 It is commonly known as sesame or beniseed, is cultivated through out India, mainly for its seeds and oil. The plant traditionally used in the treatment of hemorrhoids, dysentery, constipation, cough, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea and ulcers. it also produces antifungal, anticancer, antitumor, antiatherosclerotic activity. The total alcoholic extracts of all residual aerial parts of this plant showantioxidant, anticancer, antiaging and anticoagulant activities.[ T.S.Mohamed Saleem, C.Madhusudhana Chetty, A.Eswar Reddy, G.Bharathi, K.Bharani, P.Suma Deepthi, P.Bhavani, Phyto-pharmacological review of Sesamum indicum Linn., Natural Products: An Indian Journal ISSN (PRINT): 0974-7508 ] https://www.tsijournals.com/abstract/phytopharmacological-review-of-sesamum-indicum-linn-4618.html#:~:text=Sesamum%20indicum%20L.&text=It%20is%20commonly%20known%20as,%2C%20amenorrhea%2C%20dysmenorrhea%20and%20ulcers.
