| PAS 1 | "For the treatment of anestrus condition, Lalabhai Becharbhai Khatana takes 300 to 400 gram groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) oil and 30 to 40 gram black pepper (Piper nigrum) powder and mixes the ingredients thoroughly before mildly heating it up and allowing it to cool. This mixture is administered to the animal through a drench-pipe. Following the treatment the cow or buffalo will regain its sexuality. Thus anestrus can be cured in eight days. Only one dose of the cure is sufficient for the animal." |

| Disease | Anestrus |
| Disease Description | Anestrus is considered a problem when cows are not seen in heat. Failure to observe heat and heat detection must always be ruled out as the primary problem. Review heat detection procedures and heat detection efficiency with the producer. Pregnancy can be a prominent cause of anestrus and must always be a prime ruleout before anything else. Rule out true anestrus by palpating the ovaries. |
| Management Practices | Surgical management of anestrus |
