"Farmer Jadeja navabha rajbha of district Kutch treat rabies in animal. He takes approximately 10 leaves of Calotropis spp and jaggery are fed to the animal 2-3 times at an hour's interval. The animal calms down within an hour or so after this treatment. This treatment is believed to give good results if it is followed immediately after appearance of symptoms of the disease at an early stage ( Honey Bee,4(2&3):23,1993)."

Disease Description
|
Rabies is a zoonotic disease that is caused by a virus and characterized by acute encephalitis in warm blooded animal. Mostly occurs in dogs without rabies vaccination.The disease infects domestic and wild animals, and is spread to people through close contact with infected saliva via bites or scratches. Dogs are source of 99% of human rabies cases. Once symptoms of the disease develop, rabies is nearly always fatal. Louis pasteur is the first person to diagnose rabies and found vaccine against rabies.
