Disease Description It is an arthropod transmitted disease of cattle and water buffalo that spans tropical and subtropical zones of Africa , Australia, the middle east and Asia.From the enzootic sites the disease extends intermittently into temparate zones, causing epizootics of variable severity. The disease has not been reported in North or South America or in Europe. Several closely related viruses can infect cattle, but do not cause disease.
