Disease Uterine prolapse
Disease Description Uterine prolapse occurs when pelvic floor muscles and ligaments stretch and weaken and no longer provide enough support for the uterus. As a result, the uterus slips down into or protrudes out of the vagina. Uterine prolapse can occur in women of any age.
Management Practices When a cow suffers a uterine prolapse, there are two option of treating it: reduction or amputation. In extreme cases, the cow may have hemorrhaged and suffered intense shock and therefore will be euthanized. When choosing as treatment, there are a few considerations to take: Placenta.
