Sri. Govindasamy owned 7 acres Gardenland and cultivated paddy, coconut, Guava, Tapioca and Turmeric in his field. He used to apply Vermi compost, prepared by himself and also practised herbal pesticides -Panchagavya. Selling of vermicompost carried out by him with pockets. First, he sold them at the rate of Rs. 20 / per kg and now at Rs 10/kg. One can use this manure instead of basic manures of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium. Preparation of earthworm compost will take nearly 6 months. Cow dung, sheep manure and cow urine are used as a source to propare this manure. He is continuing the above practices with the help of Dr. Natarajan. He is eagerly expecting some kind of government assistance.
