| Details Of Innovation | Sakoon Das has developed a multipurpose machine, which can be run with the help of electric current or diesel engine or even by human energy. The machine can draw water from a depth of 100 meters. At present it has a discharge of 1 inch. The motor pump costs only Rs. 3500. To make the machine give a discharge of 4 inches, the modification in the pump raises the pump cost to Rs. 5000. Salient Features of Shakun’s pump: This multi-input pump developed by Mr. Shakun das can be operated by hand, diesel engine or electrical motor. This is a multi cylinder-reciprocating pump used to lift water to different heights. The salient features of this pump are: 1. High discharge head: It can supply water up to 32 feet easily with a capacity of 30 litres per minute. 2. Simplified configuration: The configuration of the pump is simple and can be manufactured with low skill. The piston-cylinder, motor and other parts are mounted on a single chassis. 3. Portable: The pump can be brought from one position to another position easily due to portable trolley attachment 4. Application: It can be used to lift water to household tank, washing car or machinery parts in workshop. 5. Independency: The pump can be operated by diesel, electrical o manual power. So it is independent of any particular power supply and it can be used rural, urban or semi-urban places. |
