Details Of Innovation Sucking pests like aphids, jassids and whitefly are responsible for spreading curling disease in various crops. Due to this disease, leaves of chilli (Capsicum annuum) plant are get curled. To cure this problem, Labhuben Chimanbhai Kotadiya of Keshod taluka, uses 500 g fruits of soapnut (Sapindus emarginatus), which are crushed and added in 15 L of water as a remedy of this problem. After 24 hrs., this solution is stirred well and filtered. This filtrate is then sprayed on the affected chilli (Capsicum annuum) crop. Based on observation taken by Labhuben after 4 days, the new leaves emerge which are diseased free. This practice has been learnt from forefathers.
